Hi all...
Just bought myself a 1972 CB350F - underwent a full restoration 5 years ago - a few little things to be sorted out. Reminds me a lot of the CB750K1 I owned many years ago in the UK - i.e. a bit of a git getting it started on cold mornings!
Running a bit rough so it's booked in at the local Honda workshop to have carbs cleaned, balanced, set up, chokes sorted and engine tuned properly. Hopefully, that'll put an end to battery running flat and subsequent knackered right leg.
Been riding bikes for 30 years and owned all sorts, including: KH250, RZ(RD)250, CB750K1, GS750, Z1000R, RD400, Z550, GPX750, GSXR750L, GSXR1100N, R100GS PD, 900SL, RVF400, TL1000S, CB350F.
Look forward to making use of the forums and talking with you guys.
Cheers!

New Zealand eh? What are the biking roads like out there? And Police mentality towards bikers?
Welcome to the forum. This is a really useful site for advice, info and tips. Have only been here a week or 2 but have already gleaned a mount of knowledge from these guys. The guys over the pond are making me green with envy tho'. The amount of barn-find sohc bikes I read about over there is mind boggling. Here in blighty bikes like CB750's are becoming as rare as rocking horse s**t.

Enjoy.

Hi there - NZ roads? Well, you don't have to go far from town to find twisty racetrack-like country roads unused by anyone else, most of the time... except for the odd sheep.
Police mentality here seems very similar to my past encounters with UK cops in Kent and London areas - i.e. the ones who ride themselves are more interested in just having a chat with you, the ones that don't ride just seem intent on writing tickets. (Guess that might be how it is in most countries?)

Welcome to the forum Steve.
I'm also new and ride a 350/4.
As an expat Kiwi (now living in Oz with my old bike I brought over here to restore) I have fond memories of NZ roads. All in the South Island but my nephew in Auckland with a Ducati reckons the North Island roads are pretty sweet. Around Taupo area especially.
My worst memories are when the roads guys do their attempted roadworks and don't sign it such that you're cranked over on a corner and Whoaaa, gravel across your line. Not easy to straighten up at that stage. I'm going back over 25 years so hopefully it's better now.

Cheers and enjoy,
Bruce (as in the Monty Python skit. All my mates in London back in the 1980's couldn't get over that I was called Bruce and a kiwi to boot !! )
Past :50 stepthru (shame), SL125, 500/4, XJ650, 400F, CX500
Present : 350F since 1975

Not much improved. Hit an unmarked gravel patch (laughingly referred to as 'road repairs') mid corner on a new Ducati that I'd just bought five days beforehand... saw $20,000 of (uninsured) motorcycle heading towards the ditch - somehow, it picked itself up and got round the corner! Still brings out a sweat just thinking about it!
