That is the question.  All other components of the transmission seem fine and the bearings themselves don't appear to have any visible problems.  They spin with what appears a minimum of friction, but they are from a bike I bought not running. 

Anyone have an opinion on this?  I saw a lot of talk on the post about some difficulty finding the correct replacement bearings.  I am primarily talking about the 6204, 6203 bearings;  especially the countershaft bearing

in doubt,replace

The bearings with grooves for set rings are not standard parts and a stock bearing won't work. A bearing supply shop should be able to get the groove ground in if you give them measurements or a sample, but Honda may have them is stock for less than a stock bearing plus grinding.
I've rarely changed these bearings, they run in oil and have a pretty much infinite life.

 :D,didnt know they had grooves..sorry,i just saw the numbers,and they are common..
