1976 CB750A anybody have pictures?
« on: July 06, 2008, 02:26:32 PM »
I have a 1976 CB750A, it came as a sock, sorta, project, the motor was out of the frame there were parts all over, in boxes and baskets, got most of it back together, what I need is a good, clear, well lit picture of the right side foot peg area.  Where it mounts to the motor mount bolt.
It is different from all other "A"s in the way in mounts, have a 77, not the same, so I need to know what or how the footpeg goes on.

According to the microfiche of parts, it is the same footpeg as 77 and 78, but there must be something missing on the 76 that does not show on the later years, there is an aluminum part attached to the parking brake assembly that is NOT on the '76 that IS on the 77.

Also, if the footpeg is different and anyone has one, would be interested in acquiring one.

Thanks in advance....I'll watch the post or my bio IS filled out for further contact if you can help.

The footpegs are very different to the 77 and 78 models.
I have sent you some pics of mine and a friends 76A.
Have a look at the parts manuals on CMS or WesternHills Honda. The differences are substantial.

I checked the WesternHills site and they have a good break up of the rear brake pedal with no aluminium plate on the 76.
The fiche/parts book for the 76 is dedicated to that model whereas the 77/78 have a combined fiche as they are similar, except for the comstar wheels and paintwork
The 76 has different footpegs similar to the 76F, but without the aluminium plates
76 has a 4-1 exhaust/77and 78 have a 4-2 exhaust
77/78 have a speed pickup in the speedo, wiring plug is different in the pilot box
77/78 have different handlebar switches as they run the wires outside the handle bars
77/78 carbs are different with different floats and float heights.
Handle bar clamps are different
77/78 seats are different
77/78 use 630 chain
etc

Clyde, your assitance is terrific, but I have the bike running and looking pretty good, other than the paint is not original, everything else is good, except that darn footpeg, only thing I need, mounts similar to earlier years, but the bar is longer, I believe...from frame to the actual footpeg.
