New 350f rider from Austin TX
« on: July 06, 2008, 12:11:56 PM »
Hey Guys,

I Just picked up a little 1973 CB350 four to play around with. The forums here have already helped out a lot in finding parts, thanks. Im going to be doing a little cafe conversion on it. Probably just cut the seat down, clubmans, new exhaust, signals (although I'm sure one I get started I'll end up doing a lot more). Look forwad to bugging you guys with constant questions (and maybe helping a bit someday).

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Don't worry about the seat. The original is in too good condition for me to mess with. I'm going to find an old pan & buy some high density foam & a cheap seat cover. The bike is in good shape so I'm keeping all the original stuff in case I want to bring it back to stock. It still has good header pipes so I might buy some of those Mivv replacement 4-4 mufflers someday (that being when I win the lottery).
I'm just incapable of keeping things as they are (I'm the kid who at Christmas took his new toy out of the box, immediately dismantled it, and then played with the box for a week). I'll post pictures of my progress (and hilarious failures) with the seat project once I find a donor pan. Thanks for the welcome guys.

P.S. Bender, what did you do to make your passenger so nervous they stuck their fingernails into your upholstery?  ;)

I made my own pan from a sheet of t6 aluminum.  I attached the stock hinges and latch on it so It would allow access to the tool tray and air filter.  The cowl is the rear half of another 350F fuel tank.  I got distracted by something else and abandoned this project.  I have about $15 invested in material and another $1600 invested in labor but I would offer you an amazing discount if you are interested.  ;D ;D  pm me for more info.
