Carb clean messed up my carbs ?

I am working on a 76 cb550 and I took the carbs down and sprayed them out with carb cleaner and now when ever i touch it, it jumps up to 3 k to 4 k and stays there for a couple min's before it finnaly comes back down,  what did I do wrong ??  please help.

Vacuum sync carbs?

Leaky carb boot couplers?

When I saw this I misread the title as "Carb cleaner messed up my carbs" and was expecting pictures of scorched and melted alloy...

What TT says; you must have a leak somewhere or have buggered up the balance while reassembling them.

Did you take the throttle sliders right out?  If so, you'll definitely need to rebalance them.
