Couple of before and "what will be" shots. For all you purists, she photographs much better than she is in person. The rims were severly rusted and pitted on the insides as well as the fork tubes. All 4 pipes, although they look pretty good up close are rusted through on the bottoms and insides along the seams. JB weld will only hold up for so long. So, the plan is to get some new rims, and spokes and wrap them up in the vintage Firestones. New fork tubes and some custom fabricated exhaust using the existing headers which seem pretty solid. I'll probably do a valve job (new guides etc) and put some new rings on it while it's out of the frame. transmission & everything else seems solid & smooth.
After all the advice and help I've received here, she runs like a top. Can't thank you guys here enough.
Please gimme opinions or suggestions on color etc. Things I could try before I tear it down. Here she is:
Here's one color option - flat titanium w/ graphics of some sort
Here's the other - supposed to be a flat metallic gold.
Stay tuned, I'm researching parts and hope to start soon.
**QUESTION - If you had to guess, what tire & rim size would you gues these to be ? Those firestones come in: 325-19 & 400-19
Rears are: 350-18, 400-18, 450-18 Most of these seem to have a "drop center ? " styled rim ??
I think the 350-18 & 400-18 would fit the CB's stock rim....not 100% though.
No secret where i drew inspiration from.....
Only problem - all these are Japanes bikes. Japanese website. can't find any info in english. Luckily, those tires are only available
in a few sizes....hopefully with some help, I can pinpoint the sizes
