Sleeve boring
« on: July 09, 2008, 01:47:37 PM »
How much over can you bore the stock cylinder sleeves on a k8 750, and still be safe. I've never torn my engine apart, so here's another question, can you replace the rod bearings on the big end. I looked and can't find a part number, just the main crank bearing replacement number.

General consensus on the largest size that you can go to boring a stock sleeve is 65mm which gives 836cc. 61mm is stock.
If you are looking for connecting rod bearing part numbers have a look at this site. It is for a F1 but they are the same engine as the K7/K8, except for the drive shaft and output sprocket which has been beefed up and uses a 630 chain
