Bent steering head?
« on: July 10, 2008, 06:38:49 PM »
Hey gang. I just transplanted a motor into a K5 roller (of unknown condition) and am having some alignment issues. She rides straight but somethings not right up front. When ridden straight the bars are slightly turned right, as well as the top 3tree. The forks look straight when riding so I'm wondering about the steering head. This bike looks like its never been dumped, so I'm kind of scratching my head. Is there any thing besides a bent frame that might cause this problem?
Thanks

put the bike on the C-stand..

now face the bike holding the front whtell with your knees.. firmly.. no push hard on the handlebar end that looks furthest ahead (if you were seated on the bike).. see if it moves..

Check the rear wheel alignment. If this is out you can get the same effect
