FYI I own a CB350F 72'
I went on vacation for a few day, and I come back to my replacement OEM airbox in the mail. The problem with my old one was I was missing the boot that connects the airbox (plastic thing that connects the four carbs to filter box) to the filter box, so there was a huge gap that lots of free air was rushing through. This caused the bike to accelerate slowly, and bog more then usual. After replacing this the bike immediately ran totally different. Better acceleration, top speed, and less boggy. I even hit my new top speed record today @ 103mph
Now the bad thing, a couple days before I went on vacation my tach arm started jumping all over the place, I thought it was the wind since it was really blowing that day, but is still acting goofy with no wind. Also a small amount of oil looking substance is coming from the tach cables engine entry. Which makes me nervous. It also now has a spinning noise now that wasn't there before also coming from this engine entrance/tach cable area.
I would like to think it's a broken tach cable, but I'm really not sure since the small amounts of oil. I know sometimes oil will come from the head and spit everywhere, but I'm 99% sure it's not that because it's only in that confined area of the speedo entrance.
Any help, or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking
