cable routing...?
« on: July 25, 2008, 08:18:04 PM »
hey guys, just putting together my 78' 750k, and was curious as to how the throttle cables and choke cable are routed...?

i'm having problems w/ the choke cable b/c with it attached at the bracket @ the handle bars, and it hooked @ the carb, the cable just moves, i see there is a bracket @ the carb right above where the choke cable connects but not sure if this has anything to do w/ the cable??
i just wanted to know if there were any brackets or anything that the choke cable especially need to be attched.. any help is greatly appreciated. thanx

There is a bracket above and behind the throttle wheel.  Clamp the choke cable in this.

ok, yea i see where your talking about, i just tried and i think i almost had it, i had the cable pretty much runing the line of the frame ,and it seemed to want to work in this position,
but now i have yet another question about the bracket...
that little arm that has the little Phillips head screw on it.. what is that's purpose? is it supposed to be clamping the cable? and if so which way to you have the arm, facing upwards or downwards towards the carbs?

so the cable runs the backbone of the frame, and curves down? that makes sense, so by looking @ the pic, i need to turn the little bracket counter clockwise inoder for it to be in the right position correct? this would make sense... sorry for the little details, i'm just rebuilding this bike from the ground up, and all i started w/ was a frame and a motor, nothing else, so i'm slowley but surley getting there, and thank for the help guys ;D
