Was thinking I could take the plastic off and 82 seat for my 80 and it would be a nice customish streamlined seat that would fit snug.

On my 81 the seat pan is plastic, are you talking about making a solo seat out of it?
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

no the 82 had that plastic fairing type thing with it ...the seat looks more low profile....but it may have major gaps without the fairing wasnt sure...

looks something like this wondering if I could ...easily make it work without that damn fairing.
