Life insurance and drag racing.
« on: July 16, 2008, 08:13:36 PM »
Well, my life insurance premium just went up $300 because I plan on drag racing my Hot Rod.  There is a nice little clause about racing any type of motor vehicle in my plan.  I had to be honest, so I told my agent about my plans.  You know, just in case of a serious spill at high speeds.  I guess $300 isn't too bad for a few seconds of ultimate fun.

$300. is cheap for that tunnel vision feeling I remember getting  midway down the lane! One thing we used to have problems with at Epping, NH years ago was there was barely enough room to slow down after the trap. FWIW, It's a good idea to have a feel for getting to the turn off at the end of the run, so you don't have to panic after a great run.

Have a blast!

Accidents do happen Art but they are few and far between, you'll be OK. ;)

Take it easy on your first few runs and let the speed build up, there's no prizes for falling off ;D ;D ;D ;D

Art,

Perhaps your significant other would be willing to pay the additional premium since I'm sure she's the beneficiary. Big return for a small investment  ;) My wife took out a policy on me and expected me to pay half like I'm gonna get some benefit outta it  ::)  8)  ;D

But seriously, it's a good investment on your part. However I'm sure she would prefer to have you around as we all would too.
