FZR600 ignition pickup testing

I lost my spark on my 90 FZR and have narrowed everything down to either the ignition pickup (hall pickup), or the ignitor module.  The motor turns over fine but there is no spark at any fof the plugs.  Now I don't really want to shell out $300 for a ignitor if I don't need one so I want to verify the pickup is indeed working.  It measures 108 ohms which is in spec according to the shop manual.  But that does not tell me it is actually generating a pulse.  I was going to try and use a Oscilloscope to see if it was pulsing.  Anyone have experience with electronic ignition pickups and ignitor modules?

Errm, I'm not sure about "electronic" ones, but I assume the CB650 has something similar - the black pickup box with an iron spot.
So, yes, I had one of the pickups blown, and I never even tried to check the ohms - I simply put the probes on the continuity mode to the cables, and tapped the iron spot with the screwrdiver. And that showed me that one was broken. I could/couldn't see an impulse. It got promptly replaced with one from some Kawasaki off-roader, and is working ever since. Of course positioning is crucial, for ignition timing.

It was easy....

Check the wires going to it first, there is a possibility they are the problem

I already checked all the wiring going from the pickup to the ignitor box, it was all good.  I guess my last test is using the O scope unless there is a way to get for voltage pulses using a DVM and passing a magnet near the pickup coil.

You can probably use a peak volt adapter, usually  trigger coils give 0.5~1.5volts cranking engine.
 I'm guessing/speculating here, but, you should have continuity between any two of the three wires as its probably a common wire then a low and high speed trigger wire. If the low speed is dead it wont crank fast enough for the high speed to develop required voltage.

You should have "pairs" of wires coming out of the hall effect bit and if you spin the motor with a Digi Meter set to MilliVolts on these pairs you should get a voltage reading, on a Ford V6 i got a reading of 50-80Mv
