Dave Ramsey
« on: July 19, 2008, 07:14:02 AM »
Heard of him? My mother sent me one of his books and a few dvds to research for my current cash issues. She says he is a simple guy with simple rules to defeat the cash blues. Also has a talk radio show. But my mother went full tilt for Dr. Phil and the Atkins diet stuff too.

Just curious if anyone else has worked his plans yet and with what results if any. There isnt alot of readin time anymore, it took me 7 months to read my last one. And let me brag on that book a little. I bought myself a limited edition leather bound book hand signed by Sonny Barger of the Hells Angels. Small book but what a read. 8)
"No. We're all our own prisons, we are each all our own wardens and we do our own time. I can't judge anyone else. What other people do is not really my affair unless they approach me with it. Prison's in your mind. Can't you see I'm free"?  Testimonial of Charles Manson

Dave Ramsey works!  I am living proof of that.  I thought I would still have to work when I was 93 years old, because I would never be able to afford to retire.  With the Dave Ramsey program I got out of debt and retired at age 50.  I can't say enough good stuff about Dave Ramsey.  Read his book.  Do what he says.  You will NEVER regret it.  It may be a little bit painful at first, but when you start to see it work, it gets pretty exciting.  Yes, my newest vehicle is 5 years old and my neighbors are driving new ones.  Ask me how much the payments are.(Just one BIG one the day I bought it for CA$H.)

I bought Dave Ramsey's book for all of my kids.  Now, if they would just take his advice. >:( >:(

In case you didn't get it the first time, let me say it again.  Dave Ramsey works!

+1 for Dave Ramsey.  We are on his plan right now.  Yes it is tough in the beginning, but it will change the way you look at life.  I am not kidding.  If you get a chance to go through his financial peace university series do it.  Very good stuff.  Actually today I am wearing my "I See Debt People" shirt I bought while volunteering at his Total Money Make Over Live in Indy.    Yes it is common sense stuff that our grandparents knew and this stupid society has made us forget.

Cash is King!  Such and awesome feeling to pay cash for my 750 while others are making payments on their "freedom" rides.

Now get off the net and start reading his book.  It will change your family tree.  ;)

Sounds like what we've been practicing without knowing it.

No car payments, every thing we own is payed for except the farm and we're working on it.
