Topic: Will a 1978 CB750k (super sport) CAM work on a 1978 CB750K?

Does anyone see why a 1978 CB750k (super sport) CAM would not work on a 1978 CB750K?

Well, the Super Sport is a CB750F, not K, but I'm not sure.  Haven't looked at a K cam (though I can look at the Super Sport cam if you have a question about it, or take pictures, since I've got a '78 with the motor all apart).

I have a picture of the 1978 CB750F Cam and compared it to mine. They both "look" the same, but I was wondering if I will see any difference in performance when I change the Cam on a CB750K model to a CB750F model. My cam is messed up (long story, my fault) and I can't find a 1978 CB750K model cam anywhere. The Bike is my brothers and I am repairing it for him to sell.

Any feedback would be appreciated before I purchase the "F" model cam for $90 (includes shipping) and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive from Canada.

Yes the 1978 cam will work in a K motor but you may need to use heavier duty springs.  Keep in mind that it was engineered for an engine with larger intake valves and a higher redline so its specs might not be ideal for stock K motor.  Down load the F3/K8 factory manual here   http://www.mediafire.com/?5ttzdg9yyuz   It should have the specs of both cams.  You can compare these to performance cam specs if you like.  Webcam and Megacycle both make camshafts for our bikes and should have the specs for various cams on their websites.
