I am indeed still alive....
« on: July 18, 2008, 07:54:07 AM »
Yo,

Been awhile since I posted anything on here. Been crazy the past few months with the move into the city, traveling for work --> http://www.billetspecialties.com, Half Fast stuff http://www.halffastchicago.com, and so on.

The CB450 is up for grabs if anyone might want to scoop it up. I am either going to dump the cash into my Bel-Air, build a hardtail/bobber CB450, or pick up another newer Ducati. Not that I dont like the Green 450, I have just been riding my Ducati so much I am kinda diggin the more modern bikes. Every chance I get I strip more stock parts off the bike (fender came off last week)  ;D

Anyways, just wanted to say Hi and let ya all know I am still alive...

Strong with the force you are, but beware of the dark side!

All kidding aside, good to hear from you!

Believe me I am still a huge fan of vintage bikes, but not with the vintage upkeep they require. It is just so nice to hop on my Ducati, press the start button, and off I go.

Thus why I have my eyes on a used Ducati SportClassic (see below) that I plan to cafe/chop the hell outta.

Just invision a one off Franken-exhaust, slammed to the ground, some kinda custom/different paint job, strip off everything not needed, custom seat, etc.. This would give me a sorta classic look, with the reliability of a modern scoot. ;D

I had written you off as dead and then I saw the odd post there for a while when you first started trying to sell the 450...I realized that you weren't dead but had merely lost your mind (and your way). I dig that little scoot....

Anyways glad to have you back...for now!

You hear The Pontiac is closin it's doors after this season ! It's getting leveled and turned into a 2 story Starbucks (exactly what that area needs is another place for the douche bags to hangout). What's the new bike ya got cooking ?

I haddnt heard! thats major! Ah well, the six corners is full of douche bags any how. Better they stay down there then come up to my neck of the woods.
Funny thing though, i meant to type Continental, not Pontiac though.

I got a 78 CB750F i'm cafe' in it out. The only thing i'm not so crazy about is the dang comstars.
Check my post in the registry thread and you will see some pics of it when i bought it in April.

You def. need to make the swap from those Comstars to spokes.
Look forward to checkin it out. The Continental nights are rockin, and now that Cobra Lounge is getting outdoor seating, that night should pickup as well...

The Pontiac was a good place to start the day.
Not like I would sit their all day and rot, but Hillbilly Bingo on Sundays will be missed..

Careful, you'll make this thread follow the same lines as the anti-Rush one!

They look to be (57?) Caddy caps with bullets in the center. I know you weren't askin' me but I dig customs and had to put in my two cents.

You are correct sir. The caps are offa 1957 Caddy, and then I knocked out the centers and put 2'' bullets. Very popular look on lead sleds and Mercs back in the day. I went this route becasue I have always loved the look of the caps, and didnt feel like spending $4k+ on a set of 18's & 20's for the car..
