Hey Teal...does the Duc count as a crotch rocket??   ;)

Congrats Gungosa! Take it easy for the first while. Spend plenty of time in parking lots etc....remember ANYONE can ride a bike at speed...doing it slowly takes skill and that is where you will learn the most!

Hey Teal...you want to survive on a bike take this as gospel..."DO NOT TRUST ANYONE ON THE ROAD!!!"  Just because that guy at the stop sign is looking at you does not mean he is looking at you.  Always try to give yourself an out while driving.  There is a lot more to think about than the trees and breeze in your face.  Have fun and be safe...

I agree with this 150%. More times than not I have "thought" the person was going to stop or whatever just to be locking up my brakes so I didn't go thru their side door.

Ok, i've got 150 miles under my belt and...

HOLY CRAP I LOVE THIS BIKE!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I mean... it's almost obscene... every time i walk past my garage i open the door and take a peek at my bike. It's just getting to where riding doesn't feel like a monumental feat of concentration and daring. Thanks so much to everyone here who's helped me with answering questions and offering advice. I'm going to make my easy commute tomorrow and see how it scores on the 'scoot to work on the cheap/fun' scale.

I bet every one of us has done that  ;D  After a ride I often crack one and then sit down in a lawnchair and just grin and look at it.  ;) :)

Just wait till you take your first trip  ;D

My brother in law, a few friends and I are heading out this weekend on a 750 mile trip to Maggie Valley, NC to see finally the Wheels Through Time museum before it closes for good.

We're gonna run the tail of the Dragon twice, go the entire length of the Cherohala Skyway and a little bit of the NC side of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

It should be cool  :D
