Are the seals the same between CB500-CB550?
« on: September 04, 2005, 05:33:38 PM »
I'm looking at a seal kit on ebay right now, only it's for CB550. I'm sure it lacks the clutch actuator rod seal, but will the rest fit?

As well, I was wondering the general opinion of Keyster carb kits. Is there any way I could find just the O-rings for my bowls?

Of course, the cylinder head and base seals don't fit. As those are the most expensive parts of the kit, it might not be worth it, but this depends on what you have to pay for it.

Go get the CB500/550 manual from the FAQs. There's a nice little chart in there, listing ALL the parts changed between the 500 and the 550.

Cheers, Remi

You are right, The only different seals are the pushrod and the clutch actuator (which dont come in most sets anyway!) Search seller triton476 on ebay he regularly has sets for sale or if you want i have lots at $10 plus shipping from UK (guess $8)
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Well, all I need are shifter and actuator seals. I suppose I could get fancy and do the kickstarter too. I'll get back to you when I have cash, which shouldn't be long. I've been stockpiling parts every payday. Some things you just have to buy new.
