Petcock size and removal
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:42:38 AM »
How do I remove the petcock from the tank?   I want to clean and seal the tank.  I will am going to need to replace it with a new one.

Also, will  the petcock from any other CB, fit the tank on a 350/400?

It's been so long since I bought the tank, I don't remember what model it came from, but I think that it is for the 350/400 series.

thanks

If its from a 400F, you unscrew the nut (I think its 24mm?) an it'll come right off that way.

If there's no big nut on it, and a little 'bowl' on the fuel tap then remove the bowl (should have a nut cast on the bottom) and there will be two screws inside the fuel tap.  Take note of any washers/seals under the screws and replace as needed.

Yeah, the 2 screws which remove the petcock are hidden below the screen. So, remove the sediment bowl, the screen, then the 2 screws. Should come off.
