Well the 200mph details are off limits unless I register, but it sounds like a bunch of go-fast folks and that's more appealing to me than the Harley thing and the pics of the band reinforce the feeling.  I think they deserve the Assbagery and Douchehattery (definitely douchehattery -nice tophat Slash) award of the week.

From the first page, the 200 club has a snotty exclusive ring, the Harley group has women in the crowd with large semi-exposed breasts..

The 200mph club is just a piss up and the guys are a fantastic crowd, they have to be to tolerate me holding up their meetings with the little 175. Their events are one of the only ones I can test my bike over the longer distances.
There will be plenty of chances to party with them in the future.

On the other hand, the party at Beech Bend is just part of a long weekend of Drag racing.
OK, I'm not a big Harley fan but I've had the offer of a ride at this meeting if I can fund the trip.
As I have to get over to the US before the end of the year to see some relatives, I might as well take up the offer and try to get there for the end of September, just need to sort my passport, it expired in 1992 ;D ;D ;D

For some strange reason, I'm devining that your relatives are either in California or Minessota?  Minisota?  Is that a state or a city?
Shoot- it's going away faster than I thought...

So- where are your relatives?
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

That would be Ingles ship yard I guess Greg. There was a battle ship in there when I was there in 82/3, think it was the Iowa, hell of a size.
The people I'm going to see, only just moved back into their home after Katrina, they're in their late 80s and it sounds like they don't have much time left sadly. I have to get over there before it's to late.

107 Miles is "spittin distance" in the US Sam. Mike's house would be "pukin' distance" from Beech Bend.

EDIT: F it, I can't get the map to work. Stick these in your Googler Sam

Beech Bend Park Rd @37.021283, -86.397439

3350 Burk Spring Rd, Loretto, KY 40037 @37.676110, -85.372200

END EDIT

Most of our best whiskey comes from Kentucky so bring a big suitcase.

With all the great whiskey just north or a short boat ride away from ya and you have to drink JD? I can send ya a case of Bud Lite to wash it down if ya like :D :D :D

Thanks, Sam.  I was on the Missouri a couple of times when it was at Bremerton, so I know what you mean.  They are impressive.

Navy Pascagoula was under water awhile after Katrina.  My daughter lost most of her stuff.  Mold ruined everything.  The based closed not long after she left.

Have a great visit.

Tawlk reeel slow so's they kin unnerstan yew. When you visit Makers Mark in Loretto be sure to ask to see Terry's and my barrels of Makers Mark. They will have matured by 2013 at which time we get invited to open them, taste them and take some home. Just remind them it's the official Makers Mark Ambassadors from OZ and Colorado. Tours daily. Jim Beam is Kentucky whisky, not American whisky while JD is Tennessee swamp water owned and sold by a Kentucky company. Hell, maybe Terry and I can give you a personal tour. Whatcha thank Terry?

Hi Jerry, when I said I was drinking whisky I meant I was in the process of consuming a bottle. I wasn't drinking at the time because I was at work.
When I got home, I checked if I were in fact drinking whisky or whiskey.
Turned out the Jim Beam is whiskey and when I checked on line the night after, I found out that JD is also whiskey.
I noticed in your post that you also reffer to it as whisky.
I do know for a fact where the two spellings originate from but dose anyone else, it's nothing to do with American/English.
Start the guessing game ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

At one time, all whisky was spelled without the extra "e", as "whisky". In around 1870, the reputation of Scottish whisky was very poor as Scottish distilleries flooded the market with cheaper spirits produced using the Coffey still. The Irish and American distilleries adopted the spelling "whiskey", with the extra "e", to distinguish their higher quality product.[2] Today, the spelling whisky (plural whiskies) is generally used for whiskies distilled in Scotland, Wales, Canada, Australia, and Japan, while whiskey is used for the spirits distilled in Ireland and the United States.

Although it was similar to Scotch whisky in many ways—principally in that it was distilled primarily from barley—traditional Irish whiskey was distilled from a mash of mixed malted and unmalted grains (referred to as "pure pot-still" whiskey, see below) whereas Scotch is either distilled exclusively from malted grain (hence "single malt") or from unmalted grain (which is generally then mixed with malt whisky to create "blended whisky"). Today, most Irish whiskey is blended from a mixture of pot still whiskey and cheaper grain whiskey. Bushmills, however, is an exception in that it produces no Irish-style pot-still whiskey.
