Hi,

I'm new to the group and live on the Kitsap Peninsula, due east of Seattle Washington. I'm 57, an engineer and have owned and ridden and wrenched on bikes since I was a teen. I wanted to find a project bike which I could work on over the winter and was looking for a 60's bike, like my old CB77 305 Superhawk, but the ones I could find at a reasonable price were trashed and would require extensive rehab.

I just picked up a 1977 Honda CB750F2 with 12K miles and in very good condition, other than the engine being disassembled. The prior owner had been a Honda bike mechanic some years back and noticed it just didn't run as it should.  A leak down test confirmed his suspicion so he pulled the heads off and it sat, covered in the garage, for 3 years. I bought it and hope to get it back to gether before the rainy season in the North West. I've got a number of questions which I'll post in the next few days.

Welcome, N.W. and congrats on your purchase. What kind of engineer are you?

That's quite a combo. In some strange way, I have a feeling that both come in handy for working on an SOHC/4.
