hey there forum.  I own an ugly 74 cb550k that is undergoing a cafe racer face lift.  I have worked on Honda's my whole life and have been enthralled by the old articles, and am constantly scouring he forums for info on setups for these old motors.  I am currently attending motorcycle tech school and hope to use this site to help me with my bike.  thanks for the platform, later all.

sorry to reply to my own post but also wanted to say, Hondaman, if you read this I have been studying what you have said about the Dyna S ignition and I orered one about a week ago.  I'm startin to feel like i may have wasted $150.  I just wanted to update the ignition thinking it would be "better".  I read your whole thread on the subject and I wonder if the effect will really be such a performance sucker on the stock coils.  another $150 for coils is pretty steep, to get the 5 ohms ones from Dyna. anyways my dad uses this forum and says you really know your stuff.  thanks for the time.

Welcome, Nick! I have the Dyna 2000 and Dyna 5 ohm coils on mine. The coils, halogen headlight and a somewhat weak charging system have kept me searching for fractions of a volt here and there to get it up to full charging.

It would be an understatement to say that Hondaman knows his stuff. We've got lots of super experienced folks; however, you can absolutely rely on anything from Hondaman or TwoTired. Hondaman may not scour this forum. My advice would be to post to the thread in which you caught that info from Hondaman. My guess is that you'll most likely catch his eye there.

And lastly, of course, who's yer daddy?
