So I am doing a complete rebuild on my 350 and considering whether or not I should split the case and inspect the crank shaft and bearings. Anyone got any tips as far as how complicated this will be and whether or not I should proceed or leave as is and just do a partial rebuild?
I have heard that it is a interference fit and will have to heat the case and cool the shaft to be able to reassemble is this true?

Dont know of any SOHC 4 needing heat to strip and rebuild, as to wether it needs it, what was the rest of the bike like? if it was abused then definately; if loved maybe not

I agree, except: It's the only way to "properly" replace the counter shaft oil seal. And, loved or thrashed, seals go bad.

So far everything in the top end looks really good. Only thing I found bad was one of the exhaust valves has a little pitting so I am going to try and lap it first then look to replace. The bike was laid down at one point due to scratches on the gas tank. but other than that nothing wrong with it.
I am thinking that I only paid a couple hundred bucks for it, and the whle reason I got the bike is to get practice working on engines so i think I am just afraid to not be able to get it back together and make all the gears mesh.
thanks for the advice Ill keep you guys posted on how it goes.
Oh one more question anyone know where I can find a rotor puller and a honing brush for my cylinders.
