Topic: Bike won't start.

I have been trying to start my bike after having a re-bore and new pistons fitted, but she ain't playing ball. It seems that she may be only firing on 1 cylinder and I had a major backfire on no4 this morning(my ears are still ringing). It has a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition fitted,brand new plugs and a gallon of fresh gas in the tank.  what checks should I be doing to try and  get started?

Make sure your ignition components aren't hooked up backwards.  As in yellow wires where blue wires should go.  Are you sure the valves are set properly and the camshaft was positioned correctly before reassembly?

 Hi Gordon, the valves were chcked by the guy who did the re-bore and he assured me they were ok. i set the cam shaft as told by my Haines manual(checked it and double checked it).I think it maybe electical but I'm not 100% sure on checking. the yellow and blue wires are the right way round and all the conections seem ok.

Does the Boyer use the original ignition advance mechanism, and might the advance cam have been removed and reinstalled 180 degrees out?

I've checked this and it seems to be ok. There is definatly a spark and the battery has been checked with a multi meter, also ok. I'm kinda thinking now it may be a carb problem,
