carb "leaf springs for CB500, 550
« on: July 26, 2008, 05:30:23 PM »
i'm working on getting my first CB running and i've found that the leaf springs that keep one of the jets in have completely disintegrated from old gas festering in two of the float bowls.   every darn parts diagram i can find online for will not point out the spring, and i don't want to spend my time learning how to fabricate brass springs.

sorry if i placed this post wrong, its my first.       help. please.

I'm also working on the carbs on my CB500 and the leaf springs in mine were ok.   Wow, that must have been some really bad gas for them to disintegrate.  Probably, the easiest thing to do would be just to pick up a used set of carbs and either use it for replacement parts or just rebuild it.
