Is that a different tank you are putting the dents in?  If so, I could use a 750F tank if you are going to get rid of the other one.  Let me know.

Great work!  the bike is looking killer!

One question - when you changed your drive chain, did you also change the front and rear sprockets?  It would suck to kill the new chain too quickly.

Keep those pics coming!

no i didnt change them. I figure ill change them next time. I bought a new front with 1+ teath and ill just change them all at once in the future.

Im trying to decide if i want a flat seat on that pan or if i want to make it curve down in the middle and then curve up to the back. Any opinions?

Kind of a distance picture, but it gives you an idea about what a flat seat would look like on an F model bike.

Looking good.  Did you drill the rotors yourself?  That's something I'll be attempting soon.  Anything is an improvement over that brown seat in the beginning.

drilled the rotors myself on a mill. Was pretty easy. Just made a template, maked the holes and then centerpunched and drilled. 60 hole a rotor and i took a little over an hour a rotor. This is my first bike and so i dont want to mess anything up so i always buy the part im going to modify and chop that up so i dont ruin the original i.e. spare rotors spare set pan ect.

Ok its winter. I decided im going to learn to paint so i bought a gun and now its off to get the paint and primer. My cafe seat has the upholstery done it just needs to be put on when the paint is done. I took it for 1 last ride before i pull it apart, i hope. I was a little far from home.

great progress. the seat is looking good. i am getting jealous.... or is that inspired? and, atleast the tailight is easy to change when you find something you like better. i kinda dug the one from the firehouse photo. maybe it isn't right for your new seat though.

as far as winter goes... at least you have sun, and i am sure it isn't snowing. enjoy!

keep up the good work.

To be honest i dont know what the seat is. i took it to the upholstery guy and told him what i wanted and he says ok and does it. $150. +$75 for the tank,+50 seat pan, +30 taillight. Just under $300. Still cheaper then benjies. Just a lot more work. Well im off to paint the side covers today and try and get some brackets for the rearsets. Oh and i just got back from buying a 550. :( it will be parked untill i fel this one is complete. One project at a time.

Ahhhh here's your build... I found it!

Man this is one kick ass project. I love seeing other F-projects out there... I think I'm about one step behind you with the paint and rearsets left to do... I think we are each others' arch nemesis.   >:(

 ;D

Nice work!
