Just startied to get a strange problem with my 550 F2. The bike has a new battery and sits with an optimate battery conditioner when not in use. Allways fires first time from cold, but after a run of 50 miles or so, wont start again on the starter, (sluggish like flat battery), but starts on the kick start. If I leave the bike for half an hour or so it fires up fine on the starter. Yesterday in quite warm weather (75 deg warm for England !) it just cut out completely no warning lights everything totally dead. Again after leaving for half an hour it was fine, and then rode home with no problems, and started up ok at the end of the run.
Have checked earths and obvious connections but seems to be heat related to me. Someone suggested coils breaking down with the heat, but any ideas welcome.
