Tab at end speedo cable went into cable-how do I get it out?

Alright, I thought I had pushed the notched tab onto the male tab in the housing, but it appears the notched tab has gone back into the cable???
How do you push the damned thing back out? >:(

You sure it hasn't broken off in the speedo?
If you can't see the end sticking out after pushing the drive end in, it may have broken off at the speedo end.  Check the speedo for a stub in the drive hole.

I looked and nothing. I also tried pushing back down and nothing. probably just need a new one :-\
