Air Filter Duct and Tubes
« on: July 27, 2008, 10:42:29 PM »
I need a few air filter parts, including the missing cover. In the picture, what does number 10 do for me? Also, the drainage tubes for the air filter and the breather tube need replacement. Can I use any old tube? Speaking of tubes, the breather cover tube was laying on top of the battery...just doesn't seem right...I'm assuming it's supposed to go somewhere. Does it just hang off the bike like the other tubes?

#10 is the air horn/cover.  It helps keep water from filling the air filter box.  #11 is a screen to keep small animals from nesting in the filter cavity.

The breather hose on the cam cover attaches to #24

Neither #18 or #23 are ordinary hoses.  #23 has an end cap with a slit in it.  You pinch this at service intervals to drain water collected, yet it still block air ingress.
#18 is a reduced diameter tube, whose open outlet is about 1/8 inch.  Enough to drain gas overflow, yet limit air ingress.

All the tubes with free ends, route behind the engine and in front of the swing arm pivot.

Ok, thanks. Previous owners had some kind of regular clear plastic tubing on there.
