Just wondering what a full gasket set runs and who carries the best stateside?
I was on Bike Bandit and they're asking $71 for just the headgasket :o
I'm looking for the entire set-from head through exhaust crush.

Top/bottom gasket sets available in aftermarket are always missing something. Any Honda dealer should be able to get what ya need(gasket sets AND missing seals,0-rings,exhaust gaskets, etc..).

Full sets usually run about $25 more than "just" top end sets. At least last time I went shopping.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

You should be able to get a complete top end set from honda for about 65-70ish I believe, though the bottom end set has been discontinued.  I'm told you can buy the gaskets by themselves for the bottom end, but I can't tell you which ones you'll need.

+1 for the completeness of the set from Cycle Exchange, which is what I used for mine.

Go out to the "SOHC/4 Bikes" directory, type "athena" in the search box in the upper right corner.  Read through the 20+ posts that will show up in the search!

Weird, I had heard good things about Athena... CycleX are made by Emgo.  I read here that the valve cover gasket from CycleX doesn't fit so well, too big?

I'll post what I learn when I install the full kit I got from Z1enterprises... probably be next spring at the rate I'm going now  ::)

This topic has received a fair flogging over time, but I just thought I would chuck in my 2 cents worth, given that I am in the middle of ground up rebuild of a CB750K2 engine.

On the basis of research on this forum, and reading the claims made that it was a complete, I bought an EMGO kit  >:( >:(
several months ago in preparation for the overhaul.

Bollocks it complete >:( >:( >:(. So far I have found the following Orings missing:
94608-4000  Rings around Oil Galley Caps (3 of)
91307-035-000  Ring around Central Oil Gallery collar (1 of)
91319-300-0000  Ring around screw in blanking plug in front of case (1 of)
9130-426-000  Ring around blanking plug in upper case (parts fiche says 4 needed, but I can only find one)
91302-377-000  Rings around Oil Pump collars
91307-035-000  Neutral Stopper ring
91312-415-000  Final Driven Shaft Oring

And they are just the things I have found missing so far!!! I am fairly sure that most of us, when we decide to do an overhaul, do a complete strip down of the engine, and then start from scratch. IMO, if they advertise that a kit is complete, then it damn well should be. I will probably start a bit of an argument here about what should be included, but I am really annoyed about this!

I am now in the situation where I have to wait for several weeks for delivery of these additional parts (to Australia), before I can continue with the job. Chances are that I will find other missing rings once I get back into the rebuild (with more delays as the result).

Chances are that the Vesrah kit (or others) doesn't contain the rings mentioned either. You really need access to a parts fiche, for example like the ones through HondaParts-Direct, to source the missing bits.

I spoke with Ken @ CycleX and he mentioned 3 kits-Athena, Vesrah, and his which, process of elimantion would say Emgo?

Anyway, HE said the Athena and or any gasket kit will work without leaks if the surface is fully prepped. He also mentioned yamabond, hondabond, etc. for sealing, which when I went to pick up the cycleshop to pick up the gaskets, the guy at the counter said NOT to use (the gasket is the seal-no pookie)

what was that about old gem about opinions and arseholes again? ;D
