helmet look question
« on: July 30, 2008, 12:27:34 PM »
My helmet doesn't match the theme of my bike at all color wise...it is a nice helmet was wondering if there was anyway to cover it without completely wrecking it obviously I could put stickers everywhere but looking for some better ideas....was thinking of trying the bug guard spray on that comes out flat black and supposedly doesn't come off unless w/ only with soap and water.

Any Ideas of what anyone on here has done...and buying a new helmet is not an option...would rather use the green on the bike...

Not likely a problem, but just make sure the paint or spray is not incompatible with the shell material.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Yeah, i say paint it....
I dont know what the police are like in your area, but over here if you paint your lid you HAVE to make sure the approval sticker is still visible, or they will get you for riding without an approved helmet.....

I remember being told that even the adhesive glue from stickers will stuff your helmets' safety factor and painting would completely screw it.
Saying that, in the 70's we used to spray ours white with rattle can paint then drape an old lace curtain over it and spray it with black.
Hey presto, instant lace painting. ;D
Looked awesome and we all matched our helmets so it was kind of our "mark". ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
