Hello from DFW w/ a CB750
« on: May 25, 2008, 10:35:09 AM »
I recently picked up an ol '71 CB750 that has '83 VT750 Shadow front end and a Harley tank. She runs runs and rides well enough, but I have recently taken her apart to clean up some issues. I'm looking to get it back together as soon as I paint some parts and fix up some little problems. So for the most part I'm seeking some info to finish up.

Good to have you on the forums Sam.  You can probably find everything you need in the forums, but judging by the mix and match array of parts you have, I guess you'll be asking plenty of questions.  I have a '77 550F myself, but there's plenty of owners with 750's here too.
I'm in Dallas too, well Forney really.  Gregwaits is out in Rowlett, he has a 750 and a trombone strapped to his back when he rides.  Don't know if he's attemped playing it while riding yet.  Anyway, welcome to the forums.

I think conglomerates are seeing the sheisty $$ involved w/ tollways and the like and are seeing them for the cash cows they are.  Don't be surprised to see tolls go up everywhere.

So what part of DFW are you in?  I'm in North Ft Worth.  We need to do a DFW meet-up.

Forney (east of Dallas) over here.  A meet up would be great!  How cool would that be?  All the passerby wouldn't know what to think.  Chrome = Harleys, wait a minute, those don't sound like Harleys...

Hiya guys!

Just got my 75 CB750K the other day, and looking forward to getting out this summer. Got an electrical problem, but runs fine. If anyone starts a local group, I'd be interested in being a part of that. Something to balance out my 62 Ford Falcon wagon!

PS I'm in Grand Prairie

We should plan a meetup for September.  I think Grapevine because it is pretty central to everyone.

Craig here... drove the K5 to my little music store in Grand Prairie this morning, and didn't want to get off to open up! Still looking for a knowledgeable mechanic if anyone can recommend one.

A friend had a birthday party at the Tin Spirits in Grapevine recently, and it was a huge success. Near railroad attractions downtown, I'd like to suggest it as a possible spot. How about September 21st (Sunday) at around 4-5pm? Just a starting place. Craig

Oh wow lots of locals, we must have a meet I like the grapevine idea, I just gotta make sure my girl is good for a trip.

I just finished rebuilding my carbs and need to tune it now. I was unfortunate to part out another carb set to fix my set, as 2 of my carb bodies had split around the main jet. I couldn't help but take her for a spin, and I have to say bat out of hell is not a strong enough word once she got going. Idle is to high, and take off is horrible, but w/o a tach I'm having to do some guess work by ear. I hope to have her tuned in the next few weeks.
