Newb, just bought three cb350/4's
« on: May 30, 2008, 07:37:22 AM »
Hey all, just joined, I'm completely new to bikes, and I bought three 72 CB350f's, two running well, and one running parts bike. I got the whole lot for under a grand, so I'm pretty happy. I've never owned a motorcycle before, so I know that diving head first into these is going to be interesting and painfull, but I think that between my dad, myself and you guys, I'll be okay.

I'll start a build post in a sec for the bikes, but I wanted to give an idea of who I am. I'm 22, I run the waterfront at a summer camp, drive speedboats, etc. I have good chunk of experience in small engines, from RC boats with weedwhacker engines to go karts and buggys and the like. I love working with wood, I model boats from ply and doorskin, and I've worked as a carpenter's assistant. I've got a basement full of RC stuff, kind of like a fourth grader, but with bigger toys. If anyone wants any info on boats, planes, trucks, etc, let me know, I've been pretty heavy into RC for a while.

I'm moving back up north to Maine in a few days, where I'll have a decent garage and tools again, and the bikes waiting for me. I was so stoked to find this site/forum, everywhere else people crap all over the 350 fours and I happen to really like this bike in spite of it's flaws.

I'd love to have you guys input on my build, this forum has helped me with so much already, without a single post. Hopefully I can give back as much.

Flaws? I'm not aware of any flaws on my 350 :)

BTW: Did you buy your bikes off ebay? There was a lot of 3 350 parts bikes that just sold there not too long ago, but none of them looked like runners.

I'm with hoodellyhoo.  What flaws?  We don't have no stinkin' flaws.

By the way, welcome to the group.  You're going to get a LOT of good support, ideas and just plain-old help here.

Welcome aboard from a 350F owner in New Zealand. You have come to the right place for information on your bikes. These guys are great. No flaws that I know of with this model. Mention what you have to someone over here and they immediately get excited. Always an eye catcher. Cheers and good luck with your builds. I hope to have mine finished next weekend.

Welcome to the site!  You are the only other person I've heard of my age (I'm 19) that is named Jackson.  Have fun with your bikes, sounds like you got a hell of a deal.

I'm new to the site and I just picked up my own CB350 Four a couple days ago. I haven't done much beyond give it a good cleaning. I want to eventually do a complete restore when i have time but as of now I'm just going to throw on some new tires, clip-ons, rearsets, and a pipe, lighter one.
