Why do you like louder pipes?

I just like the sound that way, LOUD!
It lets the engine breath better and can actually increase HP if done with proper jetting, air intake mods, etc...please explain.
Aftermarket pipes look better.
I just wanna mod my motorcycle to make it custom.
Loud pipes get attention, and demand respect.... loud pipes save lives.
None of the above, I like a stock exhaust. please explain.
I wish I could afford a stock set! (if they are even available!)

That poster would be much more effective if you could actually see the riders head beneath the text.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah, that first one made me laugh, calling someone a dumbass while producing a dumbass poster like the first one makes the creator look like a bit of a, er, dumbass? ;D

Yeah, that's what I get for using an image off the internet rather than just doing it myself correctly.

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Louder pipes on a stock engine are worthless IMO. I like the sound of a properly prepared high performance engine plus it can help with the performance. You can not see whats inside but you can hear it.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I feel more comfortable with loud pipes. I can hear my bike clearly and I know the cars around me are alert.

Because they sound good

Yes they do mate. A couple of years ago I took the "whispering death" stock pipe off my BMW K100RS SE SBS1 (what a fcuking mouthfull!) and replaced it with an uber-rare Luftmeister race pipe that I desperately wanted for my K100RT back in the 1990's but couldn't afford the $1200 US (plus shipping) asking price back then, on eBay for the pricely sum of $115 bucks plus shipping to Oz.

Apart from the extra 12 BHP that Luftmeister guaranteed back in the day, it now sounds like a motorcycle, not obnoxiously loud, just nice, and it howls when you give it some WOT. What's the point of riding a motorcycle if you can't hear it? You may as well just give in to the fun police and drive a fcuking Prius............ ;D
