CB750 shop in Nagoya, Japan - cool original and replica items
« on: September 02, 2006, 07:18:27 PM »
Hi all,
I landed here Friday and so with some time to spare I went to the CB750 speciality shop here in Nagoya - http://www.yamiya750.com/bike.htm. First of all I got lost trying to find the place and had to ask the old woman owner of a local bar/resteraunt (very small - maybe 8 seats). She of course spoke no English and I little Japanese and yet I had a printout of the shops address and I knew it had to be close. She understood from the printout what I wanted and called them up! Then she took me outside and jumped on her bicycle and motioned for me to follow her as she led me through the narrow back streets to the shop!! Amazing!

So I climb the fire escape to go the second floor shop and whenI walk in there are 3 people - 2 guys working on prisitine KO or K1 bikes and a girl who it seems is in charge of the orders. They look at me in surprise and disbelief as if to say "what do YOU want?". I explain in my brken Japanese that I am Andy from Boston and have 3 CB750s and I found their website through www.sohc4.us (which I show them later and they were vry impressed!). Only the girl speaks a little English so I explain Im here just to look and see what cool stuff they have...shes wary but I persuade her to take me to see the complete motorcycles (downstairs) -there are 5 or 6 prisitne CB750s (all pre72) looking like brand new. There are 10 new original color tanks hanging from the wall! The bikes themselves all have the smooth coloured airbox (some white, some blue, some yellow etc). One bike has green blinkers and when I ask she says this is from a driving school!! Looks really cool as well. I go back upstairs and see the 2 mechanics, one working on a white ducktail seat CB750 with white airbox, headlightshell, fork ears and clear blinkers with orange bulbs! Very cool so I buy 2 for myself :-) See pics below. There were multiple sets of 4-4 pipes hanging from the walls and really this shop was like a CB750 aladdins cave. Yes its expensive for some of the stuff - I showed them David Silvers Spares web site and they were impressed and asked if they could order stuff from it! She told me that all parts they used were either original or replicas (like the coloured blinkers).

Anyway here are the pics from last night.

Next adventure will be renting a CB400SB (super Bol d`or) from a Honda dealer in a few weeks to go riding with Yuri the Tokyo biker chic.

WOW! :o  Those directionals are gorgeous!  Along with the bikes.  I'll bet they had to drag you out of there! How much were the directionals?

The blinkers were 1520 yen each ($1 = 112yen -so $13 each!!) - good time to buy as Im getting more yen for my dollar than last year. They also have blue lenses. I liked the clear ones as they have the orange bulb to go with them. Apparently they are good for both back and front. I may have got the last 2 though as they mentioned they were sold out of the green ones (which I really wanted) -of course they will be getting more in :-)  - all the sidecovers I saw (and there were many) were all brand new in the box/wrapper. Amazing :-)

Brilliant pictures - love it :)

Yamiya750 is the ebay ID for this company.

They do not have any items listed at the moment but youcan check them out on ebay here:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZyamiya750

I purchased two superb reproduction items from them - long since unavailable from Honda:

K0,K1,K2 Speedo Cable Clip - $15 USD

K0,K1,K2 Brake Hose Clip - $30 USD

I can recommend this ebay seller - htese two little parts are perfect copies

Superbiker, the speedo clip must be available again from Honda. A couple years ago it was sold out, but I ordered one recently for my CB350 and I got it. By the looks it is the same. CB350 p/n is 45465-028-000. A different part number should mean a different part altogether.

P.S. Andy, you make me envious... specially for the biker chic   :D

Hi mcpuffett - I had an e-mail from some one called Katsuya Oe (order@yamiya750.com) after paying for both of my items via Paypal. Their Paypal account for the payment is under the e-mail emi@yamiya750.com so no problems with secure payment. I was a little concerned buying from them at first but the parts only took about 3 weeks to get to me and they are so good (as well as a good price) that it was worth the wait.

So there you go - no problems, secure payment, great parts and fast shipping.

Smiles all round :)

Thanks for the info Raul. When I tried David Silvers they did not have any (going back about 6 months ago) - this was under part number 45465-300-000. It is worth noting the same part as you state for the CB350 for the future should i decide to restore another CB750 ;)

Hey guys,
As far as I could see there were 3 people - 2 guys (mechanics and one probably the owner) and a girl who speaks some English who deals with the parts. They did ask me how I found the place and if I had ever ordered through their website (I had not). Having seen the place and the met the people I would not hesitate to order from them. It seems they do sell a lot of stuff (like green blinkers) as they sell out of some items. Anyway would definitely order from them if I could afford the $900 brand new gas tanks!

P.S Raul - Ill take some pics of Yuri on her new Kawasaki ZXR when I go and stay with her this weekend in Tokyo :-) We are off to the Worlds largest firework festival in Niigata :-)

cheers

So they do reproduction K0 parts?  Say I were to buy a K0 and it was missing some pf the K0 parts, these guys could hook me up with parts that would be indistinguishable from original K0 parts?

If so, AWESOME!!

Oh and I am SOOOO jealous of you, living in Japan.  That's been a dream of mine for a while now.

yes they do repro KO parts that are just like the original - the 4-4 pipes are repro pipes! And some of the gas tanks and sidecovers as well. Not cheap but just the same as original.

Will only be here for 1 month....but would live here full time if I could!

Andy, that chick riding a V-Max is a bad ass, I guess she have bigger balls than you and me combined HAHAHAHAHA

In Spain, it has become fashion on new vehicles, be it bikes or cars, to have white directionals with orange bulbs inside. Orange bulbs are very easy to find. I won't use them in my CB750 because I want to keep it as much stock as possible.
