Bike Fell... Anything I Need to Check?
« on: September 06, 2005, 07:06:52 AM »
Well, I had a nice ride the other night... got over to a friends house, threw the kickstand down, went to prop the bike onto it, and the stand decided to pop back up.  The weight of the bike was already transferred, so it took a lot just to keep her from slamming into the ground.  I put her down as gently as possible and had to get her back up myself.

My question: is there any specific checks that need to be made after being laid down?  Any parts of the working order of the bike prone to messing up after laying down?

Just pick it up and ride again.  Most likely fine from a driveway fall over.

Only thing I can think of is check to make sure nothing is bent (eg. shifter, clutch lever...) and while bent forks are unlikely since it was standing (or falling) still, be extra cautious when riding at speed.

Check the charging from the stator, or at least the wires for loose connections.
