Topic: Petcock leaks when it's hot?

So I rode my bike the other day. I got home, changed my clothes, went to start the bike again and when i flipped the petcock on it started dripping from the switch. Could the heat from the engine make some of the rubber in side the petcock shrink, or expand? Because today I went out to check it and it didn't leak at all.

probably its on its dying way,but by turning the fuel off/on,it sealed again(for now)

I know I'm not trusting it so... anyone know where to find a replacement. Everywhere i look only have previous years petcocks or rebuild kits.

I'd like to get a modern one that will fit on there, and be reliable. any tips?

called my local honda dealer and no luck. they said they can't get it anymore. It shows them on honda direct but does that mean they are still available? Any advice on how to replace or fix it?

thanks I feel dumb. I even looked around for some on my own but couldn't find anything under $100 for some stupid harley bolt on chrome crap.

what is the bung demensions for a '78 cb550k tank anyways. Is it 13/16" 22mm like these http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=90943A9C-A6B9-4BC7-A2DF-8DBA2599BAA5 or something else?
