Main/needle jet
« on: August 04, 2008, 12:34:10 PM »
So the carbs ahve never been rebuilt, but are decently clean. I've ordered the kit. It's been a loooooong time since I've rebuilt a carb. Just so I don't force something, which way does the needle jet (the long one with the holes in it, above the main jet) come out? The bottom? (PUUUUULLLEEEEEEZZZZE let it be the bottom, cause the top has way too many things in there that I'd have to take out.) And how do YOU get it out?

Sorry. CB400F. Compared to the last carbs I worked on (vaccuum operated), these look awfully Rube Goldberg-esque. I'm actually afraid to disconnect them from each other ----

The needle jet/emulsion tube comes out the bottom of the carbs.  But, it is pushed from the top.  If varnished in, you still have to take out the slides to gently tap them out.
