It would be interesting to follow-up with some of the buyers after a year or two. One might wonder what sort of "codes" would be applied to these when folks make them their primary residence and how much that might cost. Most lighthouses are in sorry states of disrepair to begin with. Neat idea though considering most are in rather scenic locations. Michigan has over 300 of them.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I thought the same bob. My handler and I concidered buying a historic home a few years ago until we talked to the previous owners about what you are allowed to do to the home and all the bullsh1t approvals that are required b4 doin so. Not really into asking permission to change something in my own home.

I hear ya. We have a historic district boundary that ends just at the back of our lot. ;D We occasionally tune into the local community TV network when the "Historic Commission" has taped a session. A bunch of old fogies with too much time on their hands and no regard for the finances of others.
