Topic: CB750 Frame Serial Number

Hi Everyone

I have a 77 CB750F that has a frame serial number that does not make sense.

The engine serial number matches a 77 CB750F but the frame number does not match at all.  Nor does it appear to match any other year of 750
The frame serial number is CB750262133.  I am wondering if anyone on the forums could give me some insight into this.

1976 CB750K'76 what engine number do you have?

Seems like your serial number is missing some digits......mine is CB750FXXXXXXX (numbers where there are x's) a total of 13 letters/numbers

Missed a number on the frame serial number.  Should be CB7502621330.

Is there anywhere else on the frame where the number is stamped besides the steering neck?
The other unusual thing about this frame is that there are two mounting positions for the rear shocks upper mount.  The normal position I see in all the pictures has the top shock mount near the seat and the other position on this bike is under the side covers.  The side covers are notched to facilitate mounting the shocks at this position.  It does not appear to be the work of a home mechanic but on the few CB750's I have seen, it is the only one to have this feature.  Has anyone come across this feature on other bikes?

Your frame serial number should appear on both sides of the neck.  One is in the form of a stamping (left side), the other in the form of a tag (right side).
