Topic: Front Forks - Boots

I am wondering about forks on 1974 cb750.  i picked up another pair to replace the ones the bike had on it that were 6 inches longer than stock.  Im trying to find the boots, which looks like i can buy at several places.  Im confused about how the bottom of the forks above the aluminum fit with the boots.  Are the boots mainly cosmetic and fit into the ears above and rest against the bottom sealls.  Anyone have a picture.  Im hoping i didnt get the wrong forks, the scrapyard said they were off a 1976, i guess it could be f1 forks.  any help would be great

The '75-'76, F or F1, whatever you choose to call it did have the fork boots as original equipment.

There should be a groove that the bottom of the fork boot (gaiter) fits into.
