New guy from Canada
« on: July 31, 2008, 11:31:30 AM »
Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm in eastern Canada. I don't have a SOHC CB XYZ but have my eye on one here locally. A '77 CB550. Looks good and I know the guy who owns it (he has about 10 different bikes). I actually bought my RD400 from him.

I wanted to learn a bit about these bikes first and found this site. It's an excellent resource.

Thanks so much,
Stixxy

Loud pipes suck.......

If you buy something.........pay for it !
If you sell something .......ship it !
If you say you are going to do something......do it !
If you have a question about something......ask it !
When the seller answers ........let him know whether you still want it or not !
If you receive something .....let the seller know you got it !
If you get something and are happy/un happy with it .....let the giver/seller know !
If you have any kind of issue,shipping/receiving/quality/price/shipping charges etc !

welcome from alberta..

yeah, buy that bike, make friends here, learn how to take her apart to the last bolt in order to fix her, then enjoy the best ride of your life and get used to the fact, that where ever you stop for something,it will take 10 minutes to get away from all the spectators around your bike..
oh,and we love pictures here,lot's of pictures.... ;D ;D

Thats not true, there are a lot of new members every day and I think It is hard to welcome everybody. When you say where you are from in the subject, the people who are close seem to chime in. I believe all new members are welcome. This is what helps keep these old bikes alive. New members = new ideas, new ideas =  new thoughts, new thoughts = innovation. I for one care about innovation. just my 2 cents.

Maybe I was wrong to use a blanket statement, but I wouldn't feel too good if I was "new 550 owner in Seattle Wa - cb550 Matt" with 34 views and 0 replies. ;)
I'd be happy to be part of the formation of a welcoming committee now that I'm a member.  ;D

Maybe thats a good idea, although if it was a responsibility it may become a chore. I think if you where to just welcome a few people (if we ALL were to welcome a few people) when you/we click on show unread posts since last visit, it would be enough to help out. I try to say hello to new members when I see them but it is hard to greet everyone. If you do deside to run with the welcoming committee  send me a message, Ill try to help.
