Got her pretty much done
« on: August 05, 2008, 06:38:53 AM »
Here's a pic of my '76 CB550F. Had her since March of 06, but she got lost in other projects. Tore her down and put her back together in a week. This was the result. I had a lot of fun working on this bike.

Wow, that looks great - I really like the exhaust.  Is it custom?

Enjoy the ride!

Nice!, X2 on the exhaust. Is that a Flowmaster type "Y" collector?

;D Thanks guys, I appreciate the praise. As for the pipe, the stock exhaust as you know on these bikes like to fall apart. I had these two shorties laying around. I took the stock exhaust and cut the megaphone off of it and left about 8" of the front of it. I squished the old part of the pipe into an oval and welded a plate w/ two holes onto it, then welded on the two shorties. I must say the thing may be getting too much back pressure due to the flat area, but it sounds like a Ferrari. lol. It woudl have been better to have fabbed a Y for the shorties. Mybe I could cut them off of the old and do so. But, I may look into getting an emgo or something for my commutes and stick this sucker on for events. Any of you guys have a goo recommendation for a close to stock/mild muffler. Thanks.

I officially hate you.  You came out with the color scheme I was after, albeit different execution.  I will find your spies and kill them posthaste!!  Seriously though, good job. :D
