Another 550 Running Rich

I've searched the forums and found several threads on 550's running rich but I haven't found a post that listed the correct, stock pilot and main jet sizes for my '75 550.  Does anyone know the correct jet sizes?

There is a table in the FAQ, lists carb setting.  Main jets are different between F and K models;  98 vs 100.  The slows were/are 38.

I had a stock 76 550F  Stock jets were  Main-98  Idle-40

Hard to accept it was born with those slow jets.  Do you remember the set up stamp on the carb bodies?

Why is it you believe Honda installed #40s? 

I have 5 sets of F carbs and Honda documentation that says they normally had #38 slows.

My bike has not been rode since 1979 and I bought it from the owner that bought it new.  He said he only road it never did any modifications.  The only way it would have been modded is if it was from the dealership.  The dealer I get my parts from said some locations had differ jets to help with altitude.  He could have been feeding me a line though, I could be wrong, but I know that is what was in it.  By the way you are very knowledgable on these bikes I am glad someone on this forum is knowledgable as you.  Thanks I have read many of your posts.
