I have and old seal and rust in my tank, how do i get it the old seal out?

What kind of seal? ........an old gas cap seal I'm guessing?

Drain the fuel

Remove the tank

Open the lid

Invert the tank and shake vigorously until the seal comes out

This will also remove the 'loose' rust as well.


If the olde seal is stubborn, get some extra long needle nose pliers or similar and pick it out manually.

EDIT: It has just occured to me that you mean 'old sealer', not seal...... where's my head tonite

well,with sealer the same way,but you got to shake alot harder...

yeah its the sealer Kream i think. I got SOME of it out, but most of it is on the sides. Wish there was a better way. I tried Acid and messed up my Petcock (forgot to take it off).
