Hi all, can't believe it took so long to find this place.

I am located around Albuquerque, NM.  My current bike is a 1971 CB750K.

I have a long history with 70's Hondas.  My first was a locked-up 76? XL100 my uncle gave me when I was 14.  I enrolled in a Vo-Tec class and made it my project.  It took a few months to overhaul that engine and sort out the rest of the bike, but I rode it for years with great enjoyment.

At 16 I found a CB550 in the classifieds for $250.  It was my first street bike.  I re-painted it and overhauled the engine.  Drove it to school and on many road trips.

I found my first CB750 at a garage sale for $25 at 18.  It became my next project.  Sold the 550 to my best friend, re-painted the 750 and we took many multi-state trips together on them.

Since then I have had about 4 CB750's.  Two were sold, one was stolen, and the current bike which I built out of 3 parts bikes while in college.  I gave it to my father after college when I joined the Army and bought a 2000 Yamaha V-star.

Dad used the bike for commuting to work, but has since retired.  I sold the V-star when I found out my wife was pregnant (2003) and missed motorcycling until last weekend when my father gave the bike back.  He hadn't ridden it in over 2 years.  Just had it sitting in the barn.

I had forgotten how much fun the CB750 was to ride and love all the older guys who chat me up at the fuel station about how they had one new in the 70's.

My Army time was up in 2006, and we moved to New Mexico because of the beautiful weather.  Perfect for motorcycles!

I have some work to do on the 750 still, so I will be poking around the forum looking for hints and suppliers.

Later,

Don

Thanks Martino.

I was looking around and it seems there are very few fellow sohc members in my area.  Too bad.  We have great riding weather!

I'll give you a welcome for Washington DC.  I used to live in southern Colorado and sure wish I had roads like that up here.  Enjoy them...

Still thinking about planning a long ride out to visit my family in colorado to celebrate finishing school...  Maybe we'll get to meet some day.
