CB750F exhaust on CB750K???
« on: August 08, 2008, 08:12:52 PM »
Will a 4 into 1 stock exhaust off from a 1977 CB750F work on a 1976 CB760K?
I am just interested in the 4 into 1 collector. I will be putting on a different tail pipe and muffler.
It looks like I would just need the different style flanges, but would like to be sure before I buy a set.
I know this has probably already been discussed but I am not having any luck with the search.

Thanks

Dimension wise, it will fit. The joining though will require some work as the methods changed in 77. So yes it will fit but may require some work to get the connections to seal.

If the pipes fit the frame and have the split-collars and flanges..

then you need.. 8 studs, nuts, and washers..for an F model or 77/78K..... you could use reddi-rod in a pinch.. but I think the looser fit of threads runs a chance of ruing the threads in the head..

Thanks for the information.
I don't have a set yet, but was watching some on ebay.
Would the earlier F models be easier to install?

  • If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical

The collectors are the same for all the F models. The big drawback is that the thing is heavy. Its about as heavy without the muffler as a complete aftermarket 4-1...just something to think about... ;)
