What's the wife turnover of guys on this forum
« on: August 08, 2008, 06:43:00 AM »
I get the feeling that most of the guys on this forum have VERY understanding partners or have been through the divorce courts or live alone. My own wife once accused me of loving my bikes more than her. I lied.

My wife is the best.  A couple of weeks ago she rolled in from work on her Shadow VLX, and as she was stripping off her riding gear I told her I was thinking of using the kitchen stove to pre-heat some parts I was torching on.  Her immediate reply was "Sure, go ahead".

One ex-. She left me holding the babies, literally and figuratively. But was a great pillion passenger. Until her tummy got so big with son #1 that there wasn't room for the three of us on the GS750. ;)

Wife #2 is the person I can thank for becoming a 'born again'. ;D

I've been married to the same woman for 26 years. If I'd just shot her instead of marrying her, I'd have been out 16 years ago.........  ::)

Hey MB, you can soap up my "fan belt" anytime, ha ha! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

You can always trust Terry to lower the tone of the conversation............. ;) What right-minded young person these days would be interested in an old crock that has a fan belt? Digital and electronic is in, man.

Ass, grass or gas.  My bike gets me none of these things.

Single, in other words.

I've not found the bike the bike to harm or help my chances with the opposite sex.  I do a pretty good job of screwing up long term relationships without the bike.

I guess I've gotten some positive responses from passengers around the 5-6K RPM mark.  Not much to base a relationship around.

Or is it?

LOL. .  . oh gawd, I wasn't being serious, silly - just that it WOULD be nice if you included the (few) ladies on the board in your poll, too ('cause we have had our issues with our partners and cycles too - like what I mentioned. . .    ; )

I get hoots and hollers sometimes, when I am riding but I would LOVE to find a guy somewhere to ride cycles with and hang in the shop doing projects and stuff, with. Only guys that have expressed real interest while I out tooling around though, have been some REAL rough looking biker types from the local gang around here. They were nice enough but ummm, no - for some silly reason I tend to NOT want to date doods with multiple felony records and/or hard drug habits. (let alone showered and clean appearance!)  :P

I've been dreaming of a woman to share my motorcycle hobby with for years.  Too bad the ones I've met that like this stuff all seem to be gay.

Too bad you're way the hell and gone in Oregon.

My wife and I have been together for 13 years.

She met me with a bike.  We rode one around the beaches of Goa India for our honeymoon.  She doesn't really like that I ride but is supportive.

I ride to work every day it's not raining when I leave.

MB, I know I know, I should have included the ladies, that's 'cos I'm a lazy old git, but you can still vote just ignore the "wives" remark and put down your vote.

It seems that your posting has generated some interest from a couple of the guys in the forum. So, If you do finally get hitched up thru my putting this poll on the forum, remember I want an invite to your wedding/hitched-up party.

Currently on my 1st marrige and continueing straight ahead. Been married close to 11 yrs now and I wouldnt change a thing. She doesnt ride bikes and thats fine with me (I dont like having passengers). She did ride on my Goldwing a few times years ago.

We met when we worked at the same small shop outside of Paris, France. She was married at the time and was later divorced (nothing to do with me, 1st hubby was a jerk). We remained friends for a long time and then met up in a quaint mall outside of London, England and started dating. We dated for a few months and then got married in a small town outside of Milan, Italy. It was a nice simple wedding.

Life is good and even better with a soul mate. Especially when she gets my dumb humor!!

I think the real question on everyone's mind is who will be the lucky lady to grace the back of my K3 when I move to Chicago in a month.

A fair and impartial set of auditions/ heavy drinking sessions will determine the winner.  Bears fans need not apply.  BYOB.

Hm, maybe "lady" is a bit strong.

Well, she started out as my high school girl and took her first ride with me on a 1972 Honda CB175 Scrambler.  Been married solid for 29 years and she is wonderful.  I mean...she even lets me ride my KO in the living room.  ;D  She's the best...

I have been married for around 13 yrs to a wonderful woman..

likrd her so much we got married 2wice.. here
. and again in Germany where she is from..

I waited a long time to get married, sorta hard to find good ones with a good car, compressor and mig welder.. ;D

She doesnt really ride on my bike, its more a 1 person job.. But she tolerated my habit which is pretty cool considering her dad died way too young in a bike accident..

I've been dreaming of a woman to share my motorcycle hobby with for years.  Too bad the ones I've met that like this stuff all seem to be gay.

Too bad you're way the hell and gone in Oregon.

I'm a nutter and as high maintenance as an old Brit bike!  lol  There are plenty of women who enjoy riding out there - just keep looking and don't lose hope. There seem to be quite a few ladies on cycles and, more commonly, scooters, around here. There is this one gal I see, really pretty (or 'haWt' as the kids say) with blonde braids past her waist on a big ole' harley. She looks AWESOME - like she's a Valkyrie or something!  LOL  There are also plenty of the 'dykes on bikes' crowd around here, too. . . he he - to each, their own, I guess. .  ..

It seems that your posting has generated some interest from a couple of the guys in the forum. So, If you do finally get hitched up thru my putting this poll on the forum, remember I want an invite to your wedding/hitched-up party.

naw - I'm probably going to be a lone bunny - for a while yet, at least. My last two relationships really burned me out - far too much drama and stress. I'm content with just being the crazy bunny lady with a motorcycle.  :D

I waited a long time to get married, sorta hard to find good ones with a good car, compressor and mig welder.. ;D

LOL - there ya go - glad you have your priorities in order!   ;D   I'm hoping to 'marry well' and find a doOd with a TIG and/or MIG welder and mad welding skills - welding is the one thing (other than math) I could just never learn (yet, at least)  ;)

lol. . . . another 'interesting' approach to finding a significant other!  I'm glad there are guys out there than can appreciate a fiery lass. The super-submissive, shrinking violet type of gals annoy me, I must admit (or guys, for that matter - 'emo' dudes or whatever).

I loves me some Sam Smith's or Moosehead - good luck with your 'sessions'  ;)  (I grew up in SW Michigan, by the way - used to go to Chi-town often for blues shows and to party. Its WAY better than Detroit, that's for sure.  . . . )

ok, ok... i might be able to finally answer this question for once in my life!   ;D

but, now that bunny has changed her avatar, and if thats the real bunny... wow, and i may have to rethink my current situation!   ;D ;D

this is the first announcement on this forum and i thought this thread would be a good place... rhos1355, could you please add the "engaged" column since that is what i am... yes, the 32 year old heffay is finally and freshly engaged.   ;D  i've been really holding out for "the one"... both parents have been married and divorced 3 times each and dad is now on his 4th... i won't make the same mistakes.

i saw elizabeth's avatar on facebook for the first time when we were still in college.  she was standing next to her vfr in the picture and i couldn't even really make out if she was cute or not, just that she was about 1/2 the size she needed to be, to be standing next to that bike.   :D  i emailed her and said we should ride!... 4 days later she asked me to be her boyfriend via cherry cheesecake w/ the question in frosting.   ;D  since then we've taken countless motorcycle trips and she's only been a passenger once!  presently she owns an 86 yamaha srx6 and an 88 kawasaki ex500.

asked her the big question, butt ass nekkid in a spa suite at the new york new york hotel in las vegas two weeks ago.   ;D 8) ;D   her eyes got big and she said "ITS HUGE!" when i gave it to her... i'm still trying to figure out if she was talking about the ring or not.   ;D ;D ;D

LOL  There are also plenty of the 'dykes on bikes' crowd around here, too. . . he he - to each, their own, I guess. .  ..

Chick on a big Harley is trying to prove something.  I'd just like a regular girl who holds her head up, takes care of herself, and loves to ride and work on bikes, not starved for attention, and definitely not NEEDY .

Hey, I've got a MIG!  Want to come to NJ and uh, weld stuff sometime?  ;)
