cuts in wiring.. stock and why?
« on: August 07, 2008, 09:14:49 PM »
When I opened up the "can of worms" behind the headlight I noticed that most of the wires have a bunch of little cuts in the insulation exposing the wire.. is this normal and why?

That's what it looks like to me.  Those things leave fairly distinctive marks on the insulation.  Some Liquid Electric Tape or similar product should fix that up.  Check carefully for broken or frayed wires though.

Yeah someone has done some serious additional wiring with them little connectors, maybe a spotlight or extra riding lights.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I hate those bloody things, they cause more problems than they fix..
Theres no need to check for broken or frayed wires, at least 1/4 if the strands in the wires will be broken / cut.
Scotchlocks should be outlawed!!!!!!!

Agreed...as long as the wires are not cut you should be OK with some liquid electrical tape.  Those Scotchlocks area real pain.
