Brand new here. Came looking for information on a driveability issue with a CB 750k (built 11/72) and think I found something to try. Been fighting trying to get the airbox on it... If I get it running well I'll be looking for some bolt on stuff such as fairing/plexifairing, luggage rack, trunk or saddlebags, etc. Looks like an active forum and I'm glad I found it. This is the first 4 cyl bike I've had. Mostly I've ridden an XS650 yamaha and a CX500 Honda but have had a few other things here and there. Went about 15 years with nothing as we were in the young child phase. They're old enough now to stay home alone and frees up some riding opportunities. The bike is pretty much all original but is in red oxide primer. No idea what the original color was but may be able to find out from a previous owner. I think I have all the badges and trim but haven't counted pieces. It's in a box where a lot of other parts were too. The "Deerslayer" relates to my enjoyment of hunting but more so to the deer I killed with my Yamaha! That was a long time ago but still a vivid memory.

Good to hear from you. I'm also in Georgia. Atlanta to be precise.

Well if you're from Atlanta, then you may know where we are down here in Pike County. I live in the Concord/Zebulon area south of Griffin and North of Thomaston. We are 50 miles south of downtown Atlanta. I am really excited I finally got the 750 running properly. I have owned it for 3.5 years but just resolved the poor power conditions yesterday with info from this forum. It turns out to be the pod airfilters. I put the airbox back on it and it runs great now. I have only taken it for a test drive of a few miles but am sure that was the issue. Today I installed a luggage rack and backrest and a pair of soft saddle bags. Looking forward to utilizing it for errand running and saving some gas. (and of course enjoying the ride too.) The bike is ugly as it is in red oxide primer but that doesn't really bother me all that much yet. Next time I paint a car the bike will probably turn that color too...
